I've Been Delayed

I've Been Delayed, also stylized as "(I've Been) Delayed"^{[citation needed]}, is a song composed by TAS 1000 for the album A Message For Marta. The song was first used in Penguin Chat as igloo music, and later made appearances in Club Penguin and Club Penguin Island. Like other music in the album, the song was made by using recorded samples from a TAS 1000 recording machine that had been purchased by the band members, and features voice lines from the recording machine, where an unidentified person is sending message to Marta saying about how they will be delayed for their meeting.

This song is possibly the first song ever used across the entire series, and it also made an appearance at both the Club Penguin Waddle On Party and at the Club Penguin Island Waddle On Party, which were both the last parties in both games before they were shutdown. It is often praised as one of the most iconic tracks in the series, and due to its long history, as well as the fact that it was present at the very beginning of the game, and at the very end of the game and of the franchise, it is often considered by many as the "Club Penguin theme" or the "Club Penguin anthem".

Uses in Club Penguin

The use of the song dates back to Penguin Chat, where it was used as Igloo music. It made a return as Night Club music in Penguin Chat 3.

The song was uploaded to the Club Penguin SoundCloud on 9 July 2013, under the name "TAS1000 - I've Been Delayed".

In Club Penguin, it first showed up as igloo music under the name "I've Been Delayed", on the music list from 14 June 2014, and remained there until it was removed in the September 2013 list. As igloo music, it was likely under the SWF of ID 435, which contained a shorter, 129 seconds long compressed version of the song. An SWF of IDs "3" and "3_2" are also archived, but it is unknown if those files were used.

It made a return for Club Penguin's Waddle On Party on 31 January 2017, where an instrumental version played in the Dock, and remained so until the game was shutdown on 30 March 2017. The version which played there was SWF of ID 1162, which contained a shorter 127 seconds long, compressed version, with added Dock ambience. Since the original samples of the song were destroyed by TAS 1000, the Club Penguin team did not have access to the instrumentals, and as such they used a software for removing the vocals, and as such, fragments of the voices can still be slightly heard.

Its final use was in Club Penguin Island's Waddle On Party, on 5 November 2018, where the song played in the credits scene, which can still be accessed through offline mode.
